Wentcher Scholars Program

Ten students entering Oakton Community College are selected each year to receive the Oakton Wentcher Scholarship valued at up to $3,500 per year. With successful participation, the scholarship is extended for a second year. The Oakton Community College Educational Foundation and the Oakton Community College Office of Student Financial Assistance coordinate the Oakton Wentcher Scholars application on behalf of the Wentcher Foundation.

Oakton Wentcher Scholarship applications will be available in the late fall through the Oakton Educational Foundation.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Open to students entering Oakton Community College in Fall 2019
  • Minimum 3.0 unweighted GPA
  • Minimum 20 composite ACT (or 1030 composite SAT)
  • Open to all students who are eligible to receive federal financial aid. Applications from US citizens, legal permanent residents, and FAFSA-eligible non-citizens will be considered. If you are not sure about your eligibility status, visit the Federal Student Aid website.
An application, high school transcript, two letters of recommendation, and an essay are required. Criteria for selection are academic merit, character, and financial need.
